Also, Colin is a member of Newbury Lions Club & Pangbourne Rotary Club. Lions & Rotary Clubs exist throughout the world and are charitable organisations working within local communities.

Wherever and whenever possible the Charity works with Lions & Rotary Clubs in Africa to identify projects and assist in their development. Cash funds are placed in the safe hands of the local Clubs and are drip-fed to the projects as and when required.

Simple steps..

We need your continued help and support in order to achieve our objectives. Help of any kind is much appreciated. A little help goes a long way.

You can help us financially through a donation through BT MyDonate (https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/childrenfirstinternational), Virgin Money Giving or in other ways. We are always looking for new and innovative ways of fund-raising and we would welcome any suggestions that you might have.

For example, we have 5 guaranteed places in the Virgin London Marathon each year and we need people to sell Christmas cards/raffle tickets for us. You could take part in sponsored walks or fun runs- have fun and keep fit at the same time.

Reassurance that your donations are spent wisely...

To provide reassurance to those who make donations to us, we do exercise control over how and to whom we make cash funds available. We strive to forge partnerships with other groups or registered charities that are working in close proximity to the projects. For example, Mission Direct, in Sierra Leone.

Supporting local talented young people

In 2009 Children First International teamed up with Read Dance & Theatre College (RDTC), Reading, to fund a brand new bursary to help talented young people get access to professional performing arts training.

So far over £2,500 has been raised from the 2009 & 2010 marathons and two young people have been awarded financial help.

More information can be found  or by visiting the Read Dance & Theatre College website www.rdtc.org.uk

Thanks so much for any support you are able to give!"
